Sketcheese is a drawing game you can play without an account. This page says what it stores, where that goes, and how long it stays.
What you tell us
The name you type. It's shown to everyone in your room. It isn't checked against anything and doesn't have to be your real one.
What you draw, guess and type in chat. This is relayed to the other players in your room while the turn is running.
Custom words, if you're the host and choose to add them. They're kept for the life of the room and hidden from the other players.
What your browser keeps
A few small values live in your browser's local storage and are never sent anywhere except to run the game: a random player id so a refresh rejoins you as the same player, the name you last used, your chosen reaction emoji, whether you muted the music or sound, and whether you've already been shown the walkthrough. Clearing your site data removes all of it.
What our server keeps
A room is a row holding its id and status, plus the host's custom words if any. The game itself — the drawing, the guesses, the scores — lives only in the server's memory and is discarded once the last player leaves. Nothing about a finished game is written down.
Who else sees it
We use Sentry to find out when the site breaks. In the live site it sends browser errors and a sample of performance measurements and request traces, along with a randomly generated session id (kept in your browser's session storage), your browser and version, and the page address. If an error happens, it also sends a recording of that visit from shortly before the error onwards, with all text and typing masked and images blocked. It does not receive your name, your drawings or your guesses. Nothing is sold, and there are no advertising or cross-site tracking scripts on this site.
Cookies
None. The values described above use local storage, not cookies.
Children
The game is meant to be family-friendly, but rooms are private and unmoderated — what appears in one is whatever the people in it draw and type. If a child is playing, please play with them.
Your choices
There's no account to delete. Clearing your browser's site data erases everything stored on your side, and leaving a room ends the only copy of the game itself. For anything else, write to hello@sketcheese.com.
Changes
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. Carrying on playing after that means the new version applies.
